25th March 2025 – Visit to Rhymney Valley Foodbank
🔴 ABERBAROGED — MINISTERIAL VISIT TO FOODBANK
I attended the Rhymney Valley Foodbank recently at St. Peter’s Church in Aberbargoed for the visit of Welsh Government Social Justice Secretary Jane Hutt.
“The purpose of the visit was to unveil a new logo for the food bank, with entries submitted by pupils at nearby Ysgol Bro Sannan.


13th March 2025 – International School Meals Day
🔴 Today is International School Meals Day.
Over 35 million free school meals have been served to children across Wales thanks to the Welsh Labour Government.
Free school meals help children’s physical and mental health and well-being, as well as assisting families across Wales who are facing financial pressures.


13th March 2025 – Blackwood Miners’ Institute
It was great to attend the Blackwood Miners Institute for the visit of the Welsh Government’s Minister for Culture, Skills and Social Partnership Jack Sargeant.
The Blackwood Miners Institute has been safeguarded by the actions of the Welsh Labour Government and the diligent work of the Minister and the Arts Council of Wales.

6th March 2025 – Visit to Coleg Gwent
🔴 VISIT AND TOUR OF COLEG GWENT CROSSKEYS CAMPUS
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Crosskeys college and meeting with Nikki Gamblin, Principal and Chief Executive of Coleg Gwent
The visit included
* A presentation from the Girls Rugby Team
* Information on a Computing Research Project
* A live Music Performance
* A tour of Engineering/STEM


21st February 2025 – Additional Funding for Arts, Culture and Publishing
🔴 ADDITIONAL WELSH GOVERNMENT FUNDING FOR ARTS, CULTURE AND PUBLISHING – A POSITIVE SIGNAL
I welcome news that the Welsh Labour Government has announced an extra £4.4m a year to help support the arts, culture and publishing sectors in Wales.
“The Welsh government’s culture minister, Jack Sargeant, said the extra cash was an 8.5% increase for day-to-day spending.


20th February 2025 – Wales moves to ban greyhound racing
During a statement which was made in the Senedd this week, the Deputy First Minister, said:
“I’m pleased to share with the Senedd today that I have seen the strength of feeling on this, and I have listened.
The matter has been discussed and debated in the Senedd and, as demonstrated last week, has clear cross-party support.
A petition to ban greyhound racing in Wales received over 35,000 signatures
